Description

I know it is still snowing, but please add this to the list... The sidewalk utilized by hundreds of local customers to reach Hannaford, including residents of Fenno House is extremely difficult to traverse -- even though the sidewalk along the store fronts is perfectly clear. Pedestrians are customers, too! Why do businesses seem to forget this time and time again?

Really???? Was it really a life tragedy that you could not go to Hannaford TODAY?? Did you NOT SEE the news all week long that we were getting SNOW today? How about giving it a good 24 hours before jumping down everyone's throat that there is SNOW on the ground??? The City of Quincy workers did not even have work today to go in and read these complaints of yours. By the time they return to their desks on MONDAY the snow will be under control. If you need groceries or products so desperately, pay the $10 and get them delivered by Roche Brothers.

The store was open for business. Their employees were clearing the sidewalk in front of the stores. There was a snow plow operating in the parking lot to clear away the snow for customers arriving in cars to shop at Hannaford. So I as a pedestrian customer am not being unreasonable to expect the same consideration. Walking to Hannaford minimizes the carbon footprint and is also good for your health (if the path is safe), you should try it sometime! ;-)

The area is now cleared, but the City's Inspectional Services officer has spoken with business/property owners throughout this corridor. We will continue to address the matter to encourage more prompt and thorough sidewalk snow removal as this is a recurring theme.
